62.) At this time a provisional reduction was obtained using a 399 clamp. This reduction was checked on AP and lateral views using fluoroscopic guidance and deemed to be appropriate. Two K wires were then driven across the fracture site from the superior pole through the inferior pole in a parallel fashion. A 2.7 mm cannulated drill bit was then used to over-drill these wires. The proximal and distal cortices were purchased with the drill. The wires were then measured and it was determined that 38 mm 4-0 partially threaded cannulated screws were the appropriate length.
