Raquel came by to check the water heater-- embarrassingly enough, it was working.  I dropped by the ice cream store and had a great conversation in Spanish with Maria and her friend Suzana, in which Suzana told me about her experience being mugged in Chicago and I learned that I was being identified as a foreigner because I wear hats.
